A business's ability to charge a card in the Cash Register or for a late cancellation/no-show will depend on how the card was saved on file. There are 4 options for saving a card with MassageBook:
- Saving a card for the business's use in-office.
- Saving a card to charge for a late cancellation/no show.
- Saving a card during membership enrollment.
- Saving a card for the client's use during online booking.
Saving a card for the business's use in-office
There are 3 scenarios where a card is saved on file and is available to be charged by the business via the Cash Register:
- The card information is manually saved by the business, either via the client's record or by selecting "Save card for future payments" while taking payment in the Cash Register.
- The business manually enrolls the client into a membership in-office.
- The client selects the option to "Save this card for future in-office payments" when entering their card information online. This option is available when submitting a prepayment, and when entering card information on file for late cancellation/no-show.
Saving a card to charge for a late cancellation/no-show
If you require that a client save their card information on file for late cancellation/no-show, the information is saved only to the specific appointment that the client is scheduling, and the card will only be available to be charged during appointment cancellation. A card saved on file for late cancellation/no-show will not be available to be charged in the Cash Register, and is not automatically saved to any future appointments booked for the client.
When entering the card information for late cancellation/no-show, the client will have the option to select to "Save this card for future in-office payments. If this option is selected, the card will be available to be charged during appointment cancellation for only the specific appointment being booked, AND will be available to be charged in the Cash Register for future appointments or payments.
Note: A card saved for the business's use in office will not be available to be charged during appointment cancellation.
Saving a card during membership enrollment
A client's card can be saved on file for their membership enrollment in 2 ways:
- During online membership enrollment.
- During in office membership enrollment by the business.
If a client enrolls into a membership via your website, the card saved on file for the membership will only be available to be charged for their membership renewal payments. It will no be available to be charged in the Cash Register. During online enrollment, a client has the option to select "Save this card for future in-office payments", similar to the option available during online booking. If this option is selected, the card will be available to be charged in the Cash Register and for the client's membership renewal payments.
If the business manually enrolls a client into their membership in office, the card will automatically be available to be charge both in the Cash Register and for the client's membership renewal payments.
Saving a card for the client's use during online booking
When a client is entering their payment information online, they are presented with an option to "Remember this card for faster checkouts". Selecting this option will only save the card to the client's online profile and the card will only be accessible to the client during online booking. Cards saved this way will not be available to be charged in the Cash Register.
