Q. How do I connect to MassageBook Pay?
Follow these steps to connect and start taking payments with MassageBook Pay:
- Go to Settings > Credit Card Payments (via desktop web app or MassageBook Manager mobile app)
- Locate MassageBook Pay and select "Connect"
- Review and scroll to the end of the terms, check the box to agree, and select "Acknowledge & Continue"
- Complete a new series of security questions to verify your identity and information
Heads Up: Your first payout might take longer than usual to mitigate risk, but you can check the status in MassageBook under Sales > Payouts.
Q. Will I need to create a new Stripe account?
If you're already using our standard Stripe integration, you will not need to create a new Stripe account. You can connect to MassageBook Pay using the same one.
Heads Up: You do not have to disconnect your existing Stripe connection to start the new setup process.

In a pinch and don't have time to wait on your automatic (daily, weekly, or monthly) payout schedule? Initiate an instant payout to deposit your available balance, minus a 1.75% fee, into your bank account within minutes.
Now Available: Hold Client Cards for No-Show Protection and Create a Custom Cancellation Policy
You can now require clients booking online to put down a card (without paying in advance) to reserve their spot and charge it to cover your fees if they violate your policy.
You can also customize your cancellation rules and client-facing text. Choose if and when clients can modify appointments online and outline the policy information they see at various stages of the booking process.
Here's how it works:
1. In the desktop web or mobile app, go to Online Booking Rules > Prepayment Rules to select your card on file requirements and enter your cancellation fee amounts for new and existing clients.
2. Go to Online Booking Rules > Cancellation Policy to select your cancellation window and enter your client-facing policy information.
3. Clients booking online will see your updated policy and must put down a card to complete the process (unless you allow full prepayment).
4. Clients attempting to cancel or reschedule online within your time window will see your updated alert and won't be able to proceed.
5. Anytime a client violates your policy, you can use your computer, tablet, or phone to cancel their appointment and charge their card to cover your fee. (You can't charge it automatically at checkout just yet, but keep reading for more good news.)

- Clients bookings online will have the option to save the card they've put down, and you'll be able to select and charge it after you've completed the session.
- You'll have the option to save manually entered cards and charge them at future checkouts.

Q. What card readers are currently compatible with MassageBook Pay?
You can dip, tap, or swipe through checkout with the Stripe Reader M2. This EMV and PCI-compliant, Bluetooth-enabled card reader works seamlessly with our mobile app, MassageBook Manager, on iOS and Android devices.
Plus, you can accept contactless payments using only your phone—no extra hardware needed. Tap to Pay is built directly into MassageBook Manager.
Heads Up: Before taking your first mobile payment, go to "App Settings" and reactivate Tap to Pay or reconnect your Stripe Reader M2 for them to work.
Q. What are the card processing rates for MassageBook Pay?
You'll pay 2.75% for swiped, dipped, or tapped transactions AND 2.9% + $0.30 for all other transactions.
Q. Can I still process a refund if the payment was taken while I was using the standard Stripe integration?
Yes, connecting to MassageBook Pay will not break your Stripe connection. Payments received before connecting to MassageBook Pay can still be refunded as usual within MassageBook. The same goes for disputes. They will appear under Sales > Disputes.
