To check out a Couples Appointment and to record the payment, either appointment assigned to the couples service can be selected to start the checkout process. To begin checkout:
- Select the Business Schedule.
- Select either of the appointment blocks booked for the couples service.
- Select Checkout.
- If applying a discount, select Apply discount to enter a dollar amount off in the discount field and to add a reason (optional). The total due will update accordingly. Note: The reason displays internally and on the printed version of the receipt. It does not display on the emailed version.
- If taxes are enabled and you want to exempt them, select Apply Discount, then disable the Tax toggle. The total due will update accordingly.
- Click Select Payment Method to proceed to the next page.
- Select the Payment Method for how the Client is paying:
- If credit card, select Charge to key in the credit card information or take payment via your internet reader. If you wish to save this card for future use, enable the toggle for "Save card for future payments" before completing payment.
- To charge a client's saved card on file, select Card on File. If no card is saved on file, you can select Add Card on File to save the card for future payments.
- If cash, select Cash > Enter the total amount received (including tip) > Select Record Payment.
- If check, select Check > enter the check number > Enter the total amount received (including tip) > Select Record Payment.
- If Gift Certificate, select Gift Cert > enter the Gift Certificate code > Enter the total amount received (including tip) > Select Record Payment. To learn more about redeeming a Gift Certificate, go here.
- If none of the above, select Other > enter a Description > Enter the total amount received (including tip) > Select Record Payment.
- If credit card and you're connected with Square using a mobile device, select Square to process through Square POS. To learn how to check out through POS, go here.
- A receipt will be generated upon completion, and you will be prompted to do one of the following:
- Done, Don't Email Receipt if the Client does not need a receipt.
- Print Receipt if the Client wants a printed version.
- Send Email Receipt if the Client wants an emailed version. If needed, select Edit to change the delivery address to something other than what the Client has on file. This will not change the Client's default email address.
Notes:
- The primary client will be assigned as the paying client and it will appear on their Accounting history.
- The Sales by Staff report will show the total dollar amount received when viewing either staff member assigned to the appointment.
