When booking a client's next appointment, you can record deposit payment for the appointment using the Add Product feature in the Cash Register.
To record a minimum deposit payment when booking an appointment in office:
- Navigate to the Cash Register.
- Select Add Product.
- Select the Add Product tab at the top of the window.
- Name the product accordingly (i.e. Deposit for appointment on XX/XX)
- Set the price to the amount of the deposit payment.
- Select Save.
- Search for and select the Client paying the deposit.
- Choose Select Payment Method.
- If you have taxes enabled for products and not for services, you will need to exempt this payment from taxes by first selecting Apply Discount, then disabling the toggle for your tax.
- Select your desired payment method and complete checkout.
Once the deposit payment has been recorded, you will need to add the payment amount as Store Credit to the client's account: Adding Store Credit.
This store credit can then be redeemed during checkout on the date of the appointment to ensure the client only pays the remaining balance due: Applying Store Credit during Checkout.
To record a full prepayment deposit when booking an appointment in office:
- Select Cash Register.
- Select Add Service.
- Click the Service, Add on, or Series tab to view the necessary services.
- Select the Service, Add on, or Series the Client is purchasing.
- Select Save to add the Service and to return to the Cash Register.
- Select Add Service again to add multiple services, add-ons, or series to the transaction.
- Type in Search Clients to locate and select an existing Client. If the Client doesn't already have a record, choose + Quick Add instead, fill in their contact information, and select Add Client.
- Add any relevant Discount using the blue Apply Discount button
- Select Checkout to proceed with recording the payment method.
- Once the sale is finalized, the Service will be stored under Pre-Sold Individual Services in the Credits section of the Client's record.
You can then apply this prepaid service credit to the client's record by following the steps here: Booking an Appointment Using a Prepaid Service or Series.
Note: If the appointment is already on the schedule, follow the steps here: Editing an Appointment to Use a Series or Prepaid Service Credit.
