Using Square App Switch With MassageBook Manager

The new MassageBook Manager app allows you to easily connect your Square readers and run transactions all in one place. If you prefer to use the Square POS app as well, perhaps to use Square Tap to Pay, that option is available now as well!

The Square App Switch feature can be enabled in the MassageBook Manager app:

1. Open and log into MassageBook Manager.
2. Select the three lines to open the side menu.
3. Select App Settings.
4. Select Checkout.
5. Toggle on the switch labeled "Open Square POS during checkout".

Once enabled, you'll be able to switch to the Square POS app during checkout, record the transaction, then switch back to MassageBook Manager to complete the checkout process. Here's the process:

1. Tap an appointment within your schedule to open the Booking Details page.
2. Tap Checkout. 
3. Tap Next.
4. Select Pay with Square.
5. Complete the transaction in Square POS.

Recent updates to Square SDK has changed the signature functionality during checkout.Here's how the signature feature works for different payment options:

Charging a card on file - no signature required
Manually entering a card - signature required
Charging card through Tap to Pay - no signature required
Swiping or dipping a card with a Square reader - no signature required

Note: If you enable app switch, you will need to ensure that taxes are disabled for "Custom Amounts" in your Square POS app, otherwise taxes will be added twice to the transaction (once in MassageBook, and then again when switched to Square). To disable taxes in your Square POS app for MassageBook transactions:

1. Open the Square POS app.
2. Select More.
3. Select Settings.
4. Select Checkout.
5. Select Sales Taxes.
6. Select the tax created in your Square account (if you have one).
7. Disable the toggle for Custom amounts located about halfway down the page.
8. Select Save.
