What is two-factor authentication (2FA)?
Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring a second step, such as a one-time code, after you enter your password.
Why do I need to use 2FA?
2FA helps protect your account from unauthorized access, even if your password is compromised.
How often am I required to verify my device?
When enabling 2FA, you are able to customize the number of days until device will need to be verified again.
If requiring 2FA for staff members, staff will be required to verify their device every 30 days.
Can 2FA be sent through text message?
There is no text messaging option. Two Factor Authentication alerts are sent to the email address used during sign in.
Will users be signed out after 2FA is enabled?
All mobile app users will be auto signed out of the app 3 hours after 2FA is enabled.
Laptop/Desktop users will not be auto signed out after 2FA is enabled, all laptop/desktop sessions will force sign out after 24 hours as usual, and then require 2FA on next sign in.
Can I resend the verification email?
Yes. If your code expires or you don’t receive the email, you can request a new verification code from the authentication screen.
I didn’t receive my 2FA code. What should I do?
If you don’t receive a code:
- Check that your email address is entered correctly
- Check your spam or junk folder
- Wait a moment and request a new code

Is 2FA required for all staff?
2FA can only be enabled by the Business Owner. The Business Owner can choose to require 2FA for only their account, or can choose to require 2FA for all staff members as well.
What if I am a provider at one location in MassageBook, and the Business Owner of another location?
If you are a provider at a location where the Business Owner has enabled 2FA, you will be required to use 2FA to access both your own location and the location you are listed as a staff member.
How can I disable by pop-up blocker?
You will be required to allow pop-ups for the MassageBook website in order to use 2FA.
