MassageBook makes scheduling and managing appointments easy for both you and your staff! One way is through automated email and text messages that are sent to you and your staff when certain scheduling criteria are met.
Here's how to enable these notifications:
- Navigate to your Business profile.
- Select the Settings tab.
- Select Outgoing Messages.
- Select Business Messages.
- Check the boxes for the notifications that you'd like to enable.
- Select Save.
Here's what that looks like:
In order to receive text and/or email notifications, each staff member must have a valid email address and/or cell phone number added to their account. For staff members, the notifications will go to the email and phone number that the staff member has listed in their My Details. Here's how to view that:
- Log in to your professional account.
- Select your name in the top right corner.
- Select My Details.
For Business Owners, the text message and email notifications will go to the phone number and email address listed in your My Details. Some messages will also send to the business email address listed in Setup > Business Details. Here's a breakdown of where each alert will go:
Alerts that send to the Business Owner's email address:
- My schedule changes
- Staff schedule changes
- Online booking activity
- Staff modifying the schedule
Alerts that send to the email address listed as the contact information for the business:
- A new review is received
- A gift certificate is purchased online
The following is a list of automated notifications that MassageBook sends to you and your staff:
My schedule changes: When enabled, the Business Owner will receive an email and/or text notification for any change on the entire business schedule. This includes new, edited, or cancelled appointments.
Staff schedule changes: When enabled, each staff member will receive an email and/or text notification for any changes to appointments to which they're assigned. This includes new, edited, or cancelled appointments.
Note: This setting does not include the Business Owner. If the Business Owner would like notifications about their personal appointments, they need to have the My schedule changes option enabled.
Online booking activity: When enabled, the Business Owner will receive an email and/or text notification for any new appointments booked online.
Staff modifying the schedule: When enabled, the Business Owner will receive an email and/or text notification for any appointment changes made by the staff. This includes new, edited, or cancelled appointments.
A new review is received: When enabled, the Business Owner will receive an email and/or text notification for any new MassageBook reviews left for the business. The staff member associated with the review will also be notified.
A gift certificate is purchased online: When enabled, the Business Owner will receive an email and/or text notification for any Business Gift Certificates that have been purchased online.
Note: The criteria for some of these notifications to send takes into consideration the user who is performing the action. For example, with the Staff schedule changes notification, a staff member will not receive an alert for an appointment that they booked, edited, etc. They would only receive the notification if the appointment was booked, edited, etc. by either another staff member or the client.
