MassageBook uses Merchant Classification Code (MCC) 8099 "Medical Services and Health Practitioners, Not Elsewhere Classified."
HSA/FSA cards may restrict which MCCs they accept, and coverage is dependent on the Client's specific plan. If a Client's card is not covered under MCC 8099, we recommend that the Client contact their card issuer in order to determine their options moving forward.
Note:
- Employer's make adjustments to the health insurance plan(s) their employees are enrolled in almost every single year. As such, the MCC codes that HSA/FSA cards accept may vary from one plan year to the next. In other words, just because an HSA/FSA card worked say, 6 months ago, does not guarantee it will today.
- Stripe reserves the right to change the MCC code assigned to your Stripe account based on their assessment of your business. If you're experiencing difficulty accepting HSA/FSA cards and would like to confirm your Stripe account's MCC code, you can contact Stripe's Support Team to do so.
