Printing blank Gift Certificates to sell in your office

MassageBook provides you with an easy way to create blank Gift Certificates to sell in-office. 

This tutorial will cover:

  • Setting up a client record to track your printed Gift Certificates.
  • Creating and printing the Gift Certificate.
  • Keeping track of all the Gift Certificates you have printed.
  • Selling the printed Gift Certificate to a client.
  • Emailing a copy of the Gift Certificate to the client.

Creating a Client Specifically for Printed Gift Certificates:

  1. Navigate to your Business tab.
  2. Select Clients.
  3. Select Add New to create a client record that will house all of your printed Gift Certificates. We recommend titling the client Gift Certificates (or whatever you prefer) so that you will be able to easily associate this client with the Gift Certificates you sell in-office.
  4. Select the Account tab.
  5. In the space marked Store Credit, apply a value that will cover the cost of the Gift Certificates that you wish to print. You'll use the credit to pay for the purchase of the Gift Certificate at check-out.

Creating and Printing the Gift Certificate:

  1. Navigate to your Business tab.
  2. Navigate to your Cash Register.
  3. Enter the name 'Gift Certificates' (or the name of the client record that you created for donating Gift Certificates) in the space marked Select Client
  4. Select the Gift Certificates button.
  5. Choose a Template; select the Type of Gift Certificate from the drop-down; leave the field for the Recipient's First and Last Name blank; choose whether Print; select Save
  6. Proceed by selecting Checkout.
  7. On the Payment screen, select Apply Credit to cover the cost of the initial cost of the Gift Certificate. You'll account for the actual sale later, once it is purchased by a client.
  8. The balance due will display as $0.00. Select Confirm to complete the checkout process.
  9. You can now print the Gift Certificate from button presented in the Cash Register.

Keeping Track of the Printed Gift Certificates:

  1. Your Sales Activity accurately displays that no income was accounted for when you applied the Store Credit.

  2. The available Store Credit balance in the client record you created specifically for the printed Gift Certificates has been reduced by the amount of the previously sold Gift Certificate.

  3. You can view the status of all printed Gift Certificates on the Activity report found in the Marketing section of your account.

Selling the Printed Gift Certificate to a Client:

  1. Navigate to your Business tab.
  2. Select Cash Register.
  3. Enter the name of the client who purchased the Gift Certificate in the Select Client field, or select Add New if the client is not in your Client List. 
  4. Select Product.
  5. In the Description field, enter the Gift Certificate number or unique description on the printed Gift Certificate, "1" for Quantity, and the Amount due for the Gift Certificate.

  6. View the Product sale to confirm its accurate.

  7. Proceed by selecting Checkout to complete the payment process.
  8. On the receipt page, select the option to send email receipt.

Emailing a Copy of the Gift Certificate to the Client who Purchased It:

  1. Navigate to your Business tab.
  2. Select Sales.
  3. Select Reports.
  4. Select Gift Certificates Report.
  5. Select Re-send next to the gift certificate you just sold.
  6. Add the email address of the client who is receiving the Gift Certificate.
  7. Select Send.
