Expiring or Regenerating a Gift Certificate Code

We currently do not set expiration dates for MassageBook Gift Certificates. However, we recognize that you might have rules surrounding your Gift Certificates that are not accounted for in MassageBook. In the event a Gift Certificate is lost, stolen, or expired, you have the ability to regenerate a code as a means to invalidate the previous code. Please note that this the only option to expire a Gift Certificate within MassageBook.

The Gift Certificate Code can be found in several places within your MassageBook account, and in each of those locations, you will see the option to the regenerate the code.

Expiring a Gift Certificate from the Purchasing Client's Record:

  1. Navigate to your Business tab.
  2. Select Clients
  3. Search for the client who purchased the Gift Certificate and click on their name to open up their client record.
  4. View the Gift Certificate under the Account or Credits tab.
  5. Select Regenerate. A new code will be issued and the previous code will be invalid.

Expiring a Gift Certificate from the Gift Certificates Sales Report:

  1. Navigate to your Business tab.
  2. Select Sales
  3. Search for the Gift Certificate.
  4. Select Regenerate. A new code will be issued and the previous code will be invalid.

If the previous code is applied at check-out from your Cash Register, or during the online booking process by a client, a message will display that the Gift certificate doesn't exist.
