Scenario A - Online Booking: One client paying for the Couple's Massage in Full (best if Pre-Payment is not a requirement)
Service Menu: Set up one Couple's Massage with the cost for BOTH clients included
1) Client A will book an appointment for the Couples Massage with the first Service Provider for the selected date and time.
2) Client B will then book an appointment for the same service at the same time, but with the second Service Provider.
3) Only one of the clients will actually pay for the Service*. In order to add additional charge amount, add a Product with the additional value at check-out labeling it 'couples massage'. The other client can be discounted down to "Zero" during the check-out process, with a note included for the discount reason.
*Keep in mind that this option will only work if you do NOT require Pre-Payment to book a Massage. Therefore, the clients do not have to pay until you check them out in-office.
Scenario B - Online Booking: Two clients each paying 50% of the Couple's Massage (best if Pre-Payment a requirement)
Service Menu: Set up two Services titled "Couple's Massage Client 1" and "Couple's Massage Client 2", each priced at 50% of the total cost
1) Client A will book an appointment for the Service "Couple's Massage Client 1" with the first Service Provider for the selected date and time.
2) Client B will then book an appointment for the Service "Couple's Massage Client 2" with the second Service Provider for the selected date and time.
3) Both clients will be prompted to Pre-Pay for their Service. For more information about Pre-Payment Requirements, click here.
Please note that in order to remain compliant with HIPAA standards, each client will need to have their own MassageBook account in order to schedule these appointments. One individual cannot book multiple massages for multiple people with their single MassageBook account. If you choose this option, you may want to add these instructions in the description of the Couples Massage.
Additionally, since only one client can book with one Service Provider for a selected time, you will need to ensure that you have two Service Providers who are both assigned to perform the Service(s) and have Availability for the same time period.
Scenario C - Scheduling the Services for both clients via your Business Schedule
Service Menu: Set up one Couple's Massage with the cost for BOTH clients included OR two Services titled "Couple's Massage Client 1" and "Couple's Massage Client 2", each priced at 50% of the total cost.
How you schedule the Services will depend on the method of payment. There may be other ways to go about this, but these are the three primary scenarios for collecting payment for a Couple's Massage.
- Collecting total payment from Client A and discounting the total to Zero for Client B:
Book the same Service for both clients, side by side on your Schedule. At check-out, discount the total of the Service for one of the clients to Zero, as the cost is paid in full by the other client. Apply a "discount reason" at the time of check-out, noting that the Service was paid in full by the other client.
- Splitting the cost of the Couple's Massage equally by offering a discount of 50% to each client at the time of check-out:
Book the same Service for both clients, side by side on your Schedule. At check-out, discount the total of the Service by 50% for each client (or by whatever percentage each is paying), as they are splitting the cost of the Service.
- Scheduling two different Services that are already priced at 50% for each client, with no discount required at the time of check-out:
Book the Service titled "Couples Massage Client 1" for the first client, and "Couples Massage Client 2" for the second client, each priced at 50% of the total cost. Check out the clients as normal.
