Create a Massage Marketing Strategy that Keeps Your Business Thriving

Before you begin ramping up your marketing efforts, decide if you’re going to be running specials on Massage Services, Gift Certificates, or both.

With MassageBook Promotions, you can apply an automatic discount based on a percentage or dollar amount off the listed price of individual Services, Series and Gift Certificates. Each Promotion comes with its own unique landing page for booking and buying that can be shared with clients however you please (email, website link, social media post).

Services and Gift Certificates cannot be combined in the same Promotion, but multiple Services or multiple Gift Certificates can be lumped into one Promotion.

Keep in mind, if the Promotion includes multiple Services or multiple Gift Certificates, each one will be listed on the Promotion’s landing page, but each one will be booked or bought separately. Including multiple Services does not mean that the client is booking all in the same appointment, and including multiple Gift Certificates does not mean that the client is buying all in the same transaction.

Each Service is booked and each Gift Certificate is purchased individually.

In order to purchase a Service Promo online, an appointment must be booked at that time. A Service Promo cannot be purchased online without booking an appointment first.

Now that you have a better idea of how Services and Gift Certificates work with Promotions, let’s move on to 5 ways you can easily and effectively use the Marketing tools to their utmost potential.

    Outline for how to set up this Promotion:

  1. Select a single 60 minute Service.

  2. Apply a 20% discount.

  3. Start the sale on November 15th so that clients can begin booking in advance.

  4. End the sale on December 31st so that it’s not available after New Year’s.

  5. Allow available online booking times to extend through January 31st, 2020 so that you can start the year off with a full schedule.

  6. Require prepayment to ensure commitment to the deal.

  7. Make it available for new clients only.

  8. Display it publicly on your MassageBook website so that all new visitors to your site can view and book it.

    Complete these steps to create this Promotion:

  1. Create a Promotion for a Service under Promotions in the Marketing section of your Business Profile.

  2. Promotion Title: Take Time for You This Season

  3. Description: This time of year is all about giving, but a little me time never hurts too. Come escape for an hour, and let us melt away any stress you might be feeling. Book the service below between November 15th and December 31st to receive 20% off. Available booking times extend through January 2020 so you can start the new year feeling refreshed!

  4. Add Deals: select your most popular Service, choose only the 60 minute duration, and enter a 20% discount.

  5. Dates & Times: start on 11/15/19, end on 12/31/12, and redeem by 1/31/20. Allow it to be booked during any available times.

  6. Summary: select to require prepayment, display it on your MassageBook website, and select it for first-time clients only.

    Market this Promotion on social media:

  1. Post it on Facebook and Twitter using the share tools.

  2. Copy the Promotion’s link to add it to your own website and share it on other social sites like Instagram.

Use a Series to Offer a Buy One Service, Get Another Service on the House for Cyber Monday

    Outline for how to set up this Promotion:

  1. Apply a 50% discount to a full priced Series that includes 2 Services.

  2. Start and end the Promotion on December 2nd so that it’s only available on Cyber Monday.

  3. End the Promotion after 5 purchases so that only the first 5 clients who book and buy are eligible.

  4. Require prepayment so that the second session is automatically added to the client’s record and online booking account after they purchase the Series.

  5. Do not display it publicly on your MassageBook website, but instead, announce it through an Email Campaign to all clients.

    Complete these steps to create this Promotion:

  1. Add a new Series under Service Menu in the Setup section of your Business Profile:
    • Enter a generic title and description, not the Promotion’s title and description.
    • Enter 2 for the quantity, and enter the sell price as the same as the retail price.
    • Ensure it’s Active and Online. Note: You can take it offline after the Promotion.

  2. Create a Promotion for a Service in the Marketing section of your Business Profile.

  3. Promotion Title: Book One, Get One This Cyber Monday Only

  4. Description: Book and pay for a new appointment today, and another service will automatically be added to your online booking account for you to schedule at a later date. This offer is available on December 2nd only, and it’s limited to the first 5 purchases. The second service cannot be shared.

  5. Add Deals: select the Series and enter a 50% discount.

  6. Dates & Times: start and end it on 12/2/19, don’t select a redeem date so that there are no booking restrictions for the second appointment, and allow it to be booked during any available times.

  7. Summary: select to require prepayment and end the Promotion when the total number sold reaches 5. Do not display it on your MassageBook website.

    Market this Promotion through a Campaign:

  1. Create a new Campaign under Campaigns in the Marketing section of your Business Profile.

  2. Select the Blank Slate template so that you can create a custom call-to-action button that links to the Promotion’s page.

  3. Send it to all clients.

  4. Email Subject: Don’t miss this limited massage BOGO today only

  5. Email Content: Holidays stressing you out already? Get back into balance and double up on your relaxation this Cyber Monday. Click below to get a second massage on the house when you book and pay for the first appointment today. But act quickly! This deal is limited to the first 5 lucky purchasers.

  6. Upload an image of your choice to the template. Need help finding a great one at no cost? Try Pexels.

  7. Add a call-to-action button to the template.

  8. Copy the Promotion’s link and use it for the button link.

  9. Button Title: Book a Massage Now

  10. Schedule it to send on 12/2/19 so that it arrives in your clients’ inboxes on the morning of Cyber Monday.

Tip: send another Campaign the week before Cyber Monday to let your clients know about the deal in advance.

Sell Gift Certificates for Half Off on Black Friday

    Outline for how to set up this Promotion:

  1. Create a Custom Gift Certificate that’s valued at $100.

  2. Apply a 50% discount to it so that two can be purchased for the price of one. Note: BOGO is not available for Gift Certificate Promos.

  3. Start and end the Promotion on November 29th so that it’s only available on Black Friday.

  4. End the Promotion after 20 purchases so that no more Gift Certificates can be bought at 50% off once that limit is reached.

  5. Do not display it publicly on your MassageBook website, but rather, announce it through an Email Campaign to all clients.

    Complete these steps to create this Promotion:

  1. Create a new Custom Certificate under Gift Certificates in the Marketing section of your Business Profile:
    • Enter $100 for the amount. The value of the Custom Certificate is determined by the dollar amount entered.
    • Do not enter a title. It will default to $100 Gift Certificate.
    • Ensure it’s Active and Online. Note: You can take it offline after the Promotion.

  2. Create a Promotion for a Gift Certificate under Promotions in the Marketing section of your Business Profile.

  3. Promotion Title: Black Friday Gift Certificates Blowout

  4. Description: Buy a gift certificate valued at $100 for only $50. Select a style, add a personalized message to the lucky recipient, and choose to email or print it. If you don’t want to email it to the recipient just yet, enter your address instead. The sale starts and ends on November 29th, and it’s limited to the first 20 purchases. Only one gift certificate can be purchased at a time. Come back to this page to see if more are available.

  5. Add Deals: select the Custom Certificate and enter a 50% discount.

  6. Dates & Times: start and end it on 11/29/19.

  7. Summary: end the Promotion when the total number sold reaches 20. Do not display it on your MassageBook website.

  1. Create a new Campaign under Campaigns in the Marketing section of your Business Profile.

  3. Start the sale on November 15th so that clients can begin buying in advance.

  5. Display it publicly on your MassageBook website so that all visitors to your page can view and buy the Gift Certificate Promo.

    Complete these steps to create this Promotion:

  4. Description: Let’s give the gift of health and wellness this holiday season. Buy a gift certificate for any of the services listed below and receive $10 off each purchase. Select a style, add a personalized message to the lucky recipient, and choose to email or print it. If you don’t want to email it to the recipient just yet, enter your address instead. The gift code is valued at the original price of the service, and the recipient can apply it towards a different one if they prefer. This offer is available through December 31st, 2019.
