There are two options in Booking Rules for how you can choose to accept online appointments from new Clients. A new Client is anyone booking online using an email address not on file in your account.
Online Booking for New Clients: This allows new Clients to book online through your MassageBook Business Website, through booking options you've added to your own website, and through Facebook Connect.
New Client Referrals from the MassageBook Search Directory: This allows new Clients to book online through your Business Listing if it's turned on in the MassageBook Search Directory.
If neither option is selected, you will see the following notification when viewing both your MassageBook Business Website and your Business Listing:
"First time clients not permitted to book online. Please contact us via phone or email."
Your MassageBook Business Website and your Business Listing each have a unique web address that determines where the Client is booking from.
If you've enabled online booking for new Clients but not new Client referrals, you'll still see that notification when viewing your Business Listing.
Each Business is provided with resources and tools to advertise online booking through your own means. Those can be found by navigating to Setup > Promote (Facebook Connect, Website Integration, Share Profile). You will not see that notification when booking through one of those sources if you allow new Clients to book online.
Note:
- Your Business Listing displays on the Website Customization page, and it mimics your Booking Rules for your Business Listing.
- The notification is default text and cannot be altered.
- If you don't allow new Clients to book online and someone attempts to book using an email address not on file in your account, the Client will be prevented from proceeding with the process after entering contact information.
